Sven joined IXDS in March 2015 as the Director of the Connected Living Venture. Besides developing the Venture towards becoming an innovative think-and-do tank in the field of connected living, he supervises a large variety of client projects.
Over the past 16 years he has gained deep insights and expertise in product design and 3D communication, understanding the need for contextual thinking, and a human as well as a user-centered approach to design. Since 2012, his project scopes have spread into the realm of social design and capacity building.
His communication competences and interest in design theory were what led him towards entering the academic world soon after he graduated. In 2004, he became Professor of Product Design at the Free University of Bolzano, and taught at the German University in Cairo (GUC) as Professor and Dean of the Faculty of Applied Sciences and Arts until 2013. He is currently involved in master studies programs at the FHOÖ (Fachhochschule Oberösterreich) and the FHNW (Fachhochschule Nordwestschweiz).
At IXDS, Sven aims to develop relevant services and products for users and create meaningful work environments for varying teams of great individuals around him – both colleagues and clients.
He was born in the northern part of Germany, but moved south soon after completing his diploma to be able to climb and experience the alpine terrain all year round.
