Heading towards smart cities with Deutsche Bahn

How can railway stations become an integral part of smart cities?
In order to increase the attractiveness and competitive appeal of cities, the Smart City of tomorrow has to provide efficient public transport and corresponding mobility concepts.

In order to create these concepts and assets, we conducted qualitative interviews with different target groups to develop concepts for transforming railway stations into attractive third places.

Deutsche Bahn and the City of Hamburg signed a Smart City Memorandum of Understanding, which features several of our ideas as central strategic goals. The illustration on the right was taken from the first page of the corresponding brochure.

Using our interviews and research as a basis, we also developed concrete concepts on how to create attractive third places around the railway stations.
