Nick joined IXDS in 2017 as a Creative Technologist working with both hardware and software and with a goal in mind to explore how technology can strengthen communities and enrich users’ lives.
Before moving to Berlin, Nick worked as both a teaching artist and technology consultant in New York City where he also studied at NYU’s Interactive Telecommunications Program. Originally a student of solid-state chemistry, Nick’s background spans materials design, physical computing, and sound engineering. Other interests of his include digital fabrication, 3D modelling, and machine learning.
Outside of Nick’s time at IXDS he is an avid record collector and musician. You’ll find him on the weekend digging for secondhand records, writing Max/MSP patches, or programming drum machines in a grimy studio somewhere in Berlin.
