Lale is a Service Designer at IXDS, covering the user research, user needs analysis, and concept development phases of a project.
During her Communication Design and Strategy studies in Munich and Augsburg (M.A.), she began applying service design methods within her projects and her facilitation of design thinking workshops. Prior to joining IXDS, Lale worked as a service designer for the international design agency Designit as well as a freelance consultant and designer.
Talking to the users you are designing for and truly understanding their needs and feelings is the basis for Lale’s concept of human-centric design. That, and to be open to possible solutions. What still fascinates her the most about her discipline is that it gives her the opportunity to uncover invisible processes of human interaction, and make them understandable.
On her fifth day, Lale gets moving: Dancing in the city and hiking in the mountains keep her balanced. On the weekends, you’ll also find Lale applying her service design skillset to organize events for different subcultural or political groups (yes, such things actually exist in Munich!).
Her aim at IXDS is to tackle all different layers of a challenge – may they be functional, visual or human – to find holistic solutions that fit the needs of all stakeholders involved.
