Pre-Work Talk Munich Managing emerging risks & uncertainty

Nobody likes risky business, but is it possible to deal with risks you can’t really define yet? Unforeseeable challenges that come with globalization, interconnectedness and new technologies have the possibility to cause a lot of damage not only to businesses, but the economy, and society as a whole. As the saying goes, “the real risk is doing nothing,” so at our Munich Pre-Work Talk on Thursday, April 19, we’re bringing in an expert to discuss how to better understand and develop resilience against threats in the changing risk landscape.

Head of Risk Management Innovation and Digitalization at Munich Re, Rainer Sachs, has over 20 years‘ global experience in financial and insurance risk management. Examining new and changing risks from all angles in order to identify business potential at an early stage, Rainer not only works across emerging risk management at Munich Re, but also the assessment of innovation initiatives and corporate venture capital decisions.

We are very excited to welcome him to our studio to share this knowledge with you and discuss what he says are “promising methods for mapping even non-quantifiable risks in the decision-making processes.”

In addition to looking into models for a more competent handling of growing complexity and uncertainty, Rainer will also discuss the psychology of risk; for instance, gut decisions and possible bias in risk management.

We want a future where innovation continues to enhance the lives of society, so we’re looking forward to bringing this important topic to the table. Coffee will be ready from 8:30am, and the talk will take place from 9 – 10am. You can let us know if you're coming by RSVP'ing on Facebook

See you at our studio on Ganghoferstr 68b on April 19!
